Casual portrait of USI electrical engineering graduate Melanie Cedeno in the field

Melanie Cedeno '24, Electrical Engineering

"One of the most meaningful experiences I had was traveling to Eswatini, where I worked alongside fellow USI students and partner institutions to build a pedestrian bridge in one of the country’s most rural communities. This experience deeply impacted my life and transformed how I view engineering. I learned that, whether on a large or small scale, our skills as engineers, combined with empathy and determination, can truly change lives."
