The University of Southern Indiana has a social presence on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, Threads and TikTok. Social media allows the University to communicate its values and priorities, receive feedback from internal and external audiences and build connections and a sense of belonging within and beyond the USI community. With over 125,000 followers across our six platforms, our reach is substantial, allowing us to build connections close to home and across the world.
We encourage our followers to engage with University content frequently. Tag friends and family in posts, utilize USI hashtags, share posts, engage in conversations—social media gives the University the opportunity to show off all it has to offer, and audience engagement is essential.

#ScreaglePride - The official academic and school spirit hashtag for the University of Southern Indiana. Can be used to refer to the institution, student and faculty accomplishments, campus, awards and recognitions, and other general topics that do not have their own designated hashtag.
#GoUSIEagles - The official athletics hashtag for USI. Can be used in all contexts featuring USI officially sanctioned teams and student-athletes.

The University of Southern Indiana uses social media to share information, celebrate achievements, highlight the experiences of our students, faculty and staff, engage with audiences and promote the USI brand.
We encourage respectful conversation and welcome questions, feedback and diverse perspectives. To help maintain a positive and productive environment, comments and interactions on official USI social media channels should follow these Community Guidelines.
By engaging with USI social media accounts, users agree to follow these guidelines and the terms of service established by each social media platform.
Social media is an ongoing conversation, and University social media pages are monitored regularly to encourage respectful, constructive engagement and conversation. As a public institution of higher education, the University recognizes and respects the First Amendment rights of individuals.
The University of Southern Indiana reserves the right to hide or remove comments that contain or promote:
Profanity or obscene content
Hate speech
Threats or intimidation
Harassment or bullying of individuals or groups
Personal or confidential information (including doxxing)
Spam or repetitive content
Commercial advertising or solicitation
Content that is unrelated to the original post or discussion
False or misleading information that creates a public safety risk
Impersonation of another individual or organization
Encouragement or promotion of illegal activity
To foster meaningful discussion, comments should generally relate to the topic of the original post. Spam, including repeated posting of substantially identical or substantially similar comments across multiple posts, excessive repetitive commentary or other activity that interferes with normal discussion, may be removed. Content that primarily uses University social media channels to promote unrelated or personal agendas may also be removed.
Users who repeatedly violate the USI social media community guidelines or engage in behavior that substantially interferes with the University's ability to facilitate productive discussion may be restricted from participating on University social media channels after documented warnings.
USI monitors official social media channels and may respond to questions or concerns when appropriate.
For questions requiring personal assistance, account-specific information or detailed follow-up, users may be directed to contact the appropriate University office or department.
Social media is not monitored as a real-time emergency response service.
For campus emergencies, contact USI Public Safety. For University-related concerns requiring immediate attention, use the appropriate University contact channels.
USI reserves the right to update USI social media Community Guidelines as needed to reflect changes in social media platforms, University policies or community needs.
